American Legion Post 109

This new facility is currently being designed to accommodate numerous and frequent functions of all kinds hosted by the American Legion Post 109. In addition to the member’s restaurant and lounge, the centralized foodservice area will serve a large and separate rental hall equipped with versatile lighting and sound systems to accommodate a wide variety of special events.  Covered drop-off areas are provided for the comfort of the guests.

As a new neighbor to the local public library, the site and building design must be sensitive to the character and scale of the surrounding neighborhoods. Low light fixtures in the parking lot eliminate light pollution, and the building materials are respectful of the local vernacular. 

Murray Associates was engaged to provide all architectural, structural, engineering and interior design, and met frequently with multiple user groups to address their special needs and concerns.  The Murray team made numerous site visits to similar facilities to observe both good and bad conditions in an effort to provide the most functional and versatile facility.

All materials were selected with respect to their initial cost as well as the cost of maintenance and future replacement.  Security systems are provided throughout the facility.
