Climenhaga Performing Arts Center

The Climenhaga Arts Center is a contemporary two story brick building of 54,000 square feet. The Center, stepping down a hillside from a brick paved plaza to the banks of the Yellow Breeches Creek, houses the music, drama, and fine arts departments.

Flanked by music and drama spaces on one side and three major art studios on the other, is a 400-seat theater with excellent acoustical characteristics for speech or music. There are 26 music practice rooms for individual or small group practice, a major instrumental rehearsal room and a choral rehearsal room that also functions as a recital hall.

The fine arts are housed in 3 major art studios, with north-facing clerestories and with sloping metal clad roofs. There are also classrooms, a sizable scene shop, costume shops and a seminar room.

The focus of the building is a sky lit upper and lower lobby that opens into an exhibition gallery.
